And now comedian Tommy Chong has revealed he is treating his early stage prostate cancer with hemp oil.

He revealed his condition during an interview on CNN in which he discussed the legalisation of marijuana.

The actor said: ‘I’ve got prostate cancer, and I’m treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis.

‘So it means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested.’

The 74-year-old described the cancer as ‘a slow stage one (that I’ve) had for a long time.’

He said that he was drug free for about three years, during which time he began having prostate-related problems.

Tommy added: ‘So I know it had nothing to do with cannabis. Cannabis is a cure.'”

“Comedian Tommy Chong has announced he has cured his prostate cancer by using cannabis.”

“The 74 year-old was diagnosed in June last year following a three year-period of being drug-free.

On the advice of a Canadian doctor Chong changed his diet to include special supplements and hemp oil before sessions with “world-renowned” Adam Dreamhealer .

The funnyman, who is one half of the constantly stoned duo Cheech and Chong, announced he had beaten the disease in a blog on Celebstoner.com.

He told his fans “I kicked cancer’s ass!” and has championed the use of cannabis oil for treating cancer.

The actor, writer and activist said: “With the diet, the supplements and the hash oil, plus a session with a world-renowned healer, Adam Dreamhealer, I’m cancer-free.

“Last week, Tommy Chong posted on CelebStoner that hemp oil helped him beat prostate cancer. The 74-year-old comedian added that the marijuana-based product used in conjunction with a supplemental diet and a session with a “world-renowned” healer brought his cancer threat down.

Chong was diagnosed with prostate cancer last June. According to his post, Chong said he was recommended an intense treatment in Mexico, which cost $25,000. He sought an alternative and found a Canadian doctor who recommended a different diet and “hash oil.”

“I’m due for another blood test, MRI, etc., but I feel the best I’ve felt in years. And now for a celebration joint of the finest Kush,” Chong wrote.

Chong has advocated for the legalization of marijuana in the United States. He thinks that legalizing pot on a federal level would alleviate the country’s economic woes.”

Chong has now told fans he has overcome the cancer, and opened up about how he treated the condition.

…doctor changed my diet and put me on supplements, and within a year I brought my PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) numbers down drastically and eliminated the cancer threat. Marijuana mouth spray for cancer patients tough to abuse – NBC

“The medical marijuana drug Sativex, which could be approved in the United States in the coming years as a treatment for pain relief, has little potential for abuse, experts say.

The British pharmaceutical company GW Pharmaceuticals is currently testing the drug, which is delivered as a mouth spray and called Sativex, in clinical trials. The company plans to seek U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for the drug as a treatment for cancer pain when the trials are completed, likely sometime in 2014, a spokesperson for GW Pharmaceuticals told MyHealthNewsDaily.

The active ingredients in Sativex, known as cannabinoids, are derived from the cannabis plant. It is the first marijuana-based drug to be made by extracting the compounds from the plant, rather than synthesizing them. Two other drugs, Marinol and Cesamet, based on synthetic cannabinoids, were approved by the FDA in the 1980s.”

Cannabis Linked to Decreased Bladder Cancer Risk

“The use of cannabis among men has been linked to a significantly decreased risk for bladder cancer, according to a recent study; however, no cause and effect association has been found.”

“The study, presented at the AUA 2013 Annual Meeting, found that men who reported using cannabis had a 45% lower risk for developing bladder cancer compared with men who did not smoke, even after adjusting for age, BMI, and race/ethnicity.

“Bladder cancer is one of the most prevalent genitourinary malignancies with an estimated 72,570 new cases and 15,210 cancer-related deaths per year in the United States, and it is the fourth most common malignancy in men,” Anil Thomas, MD, study author and endourology fellow at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, said in an e-mail communication. “Importantly, advanced bladder cancer is inherently challenging to treat due to its associated high mortality and lack of effective systemic therapies.””
